In the first quarter of 2021, the virtual fitness landscape on iOS in the United Kingdom saw diverse performance trends among the top applications. Sensor Tower data provides us with a clear picture of how these apps fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and user engagement.

Starting with Courtney Black Fitness, the app experienced a peak in revenue reaching nearly $273K in mid-January, with a subsequent decline to around $169K by the end of March. Downloads showed a decreasing trend from around 6K in the last week of December to approximately 2K by the end of March.

Next, Strava: Run, Bike, Hike also witnessed a decrease in revenue from about $116K at the end of December to $106K by the close of March. Downloads peaked at over 51K in the first week of January, followed by a gradual decrease to about 22K in the last week of March. The app's weekly active users saw highs and lows, with a notable peak at nearly 783K in late February.

For The Body Coach Workout Planner, revenues started strong at over $307K at the end of December but saw a significant drop to around $37K by mid-January, stabilizing near $66K by March-end. The app's downloads showed a similar trend, with a sharp decline from 32K in early January to around 7.7K by the end of March. Weekly active users appeared more stable, remaining in the 30K to 47K range throughout the quarter.

Zwift: Ride and Run saw its revenue grow from around $76K at the end of December to a peak of approximately $94K in late March. Downloads, however, declined from about 3.1K to less than 1K in the same period. The weekly active users for Zwift also showed a downward trend, starting at over 12K and ending the quarter at just under 10K.

Lastly, Fitbit: Health & Fitness experienced fluctuating revenue, with a notable spike to $138K in late March from around $89K at the end of December. Downloads began at approximately 44.5K and saw a gradual decrease to 15.5K by the end of the quarter. The app maintained a relatively consistent number of weekly active users, hovering around 280K to 300K throughout the period.
